Description

Inspired by South Indian coffee tradition, Katha’s Ready-to-Drink South Indian Style Coffee Latte blends bold coffee with creamy coconut milk for a smooth, balanced lift that fits modern routines.

Rich and aromatic, this is coffee with depth roasted notes up front, mellowed by coconut milk for a silky finish. It delivers steady energy without the heaviness of dairy-based lattes or the excess sweetness of bottled coffee drinks.

Lightly sweetened and dairy-free, it’s a clean, ready-to-drink coffee made for mornings, afternoons, and everything in between.

What's Actually In It

Ingredients: BREWED COFFEE (WATER, COFFEE), WATER, SUGAR, ORGANIC COCONUT MILK, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF THE FOLLOWING: DEOILED SUNFLOWER LECITHIN (an emulsifier), CELLULOSE GEL, CELLULOSE GUM, NATURAL FLAVORS, DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, TRIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, SODIUM HEXAMETAPHOSPHATE

Per can (8 oz):
Calories: [X] | Sugar: 15g | Caffeine: TBDmg

Allergens: Vegan. Gluten-free.

About shelf stability: To keep coconut milk from separating for 18 months, we use plant-based stabilizers. No preservatives. No artificial flavors.

Where It Comes From

Coffee: Single-origin Arabica from Idukki district, Kerala. Grown at 1000m elevation in shade-grown estates. Higher elevation means slower cherry development, which concentrates sugars and complexity.

Cardamom: Family farm in Chathurangapara, Kerala (around 1100m elevation). Just enough to add a floral edge without making this taste like chai.

Cinnamon: True Ceylon from Sri Lanka. Adds warmth and rounds out the roast.

Coconut milk: Organic farms, Sri Lanka.

How We Make It

We source green beans from single-origin estates in Idukki. Medium roast at around 419°F to bring out chocolate and caramel notes without bitterness. Most canned coffee uses dark roast to hide lower-quality beans. We don't need to.

After roasting, we brew using a cold extraction method - slower than espresso, faster than cold brew. This pulls the complexity without the harsh acids.

We fold in coconut milk at the right temperature to maintain the coffee's clarity.

FAQ

How is this different from coffee chain bottled lattes?

Three main differences:

Sugar: Many drinks have 20-30g+ sugar, minimum. We have 15g - about 1/2 the sweetness.

Ingredients: Theirs use concentrate with "artificial flavors". We use brewed single-origin coffee and minimal processing.

Taste: Theirs are dessert-forward. Ours is coffee-forward. You actually taste the roast, not just sweetness.

Which is better? Depends what you want. If you want a sweet treat that happens to have some caffeine, they're great. If you want delicious small-batch coffee that happens to be in a can, try this.

Is this like cold brew?

Similar process, different result. Cold brew is typically steeped for 12-24 hours in cold water, which creates a smoother but sometimes flat flavor profile.

We use a hybrid method - cold extraction but shorter (1-2 hours) with slightly warmer water. This pulls more complexity and brightness from the beans without the harsh acids you get from hot brewing.

Think: somewhere between cold brew and espresso, but in a latte format.

Will this actually give me energy or is it placebo?

Actual energy. 80-90mg caffeine per can - about the same as a cup of coffee.

The L-theanine and coconut milk fat content both help smooth out the caffeine curve, so you're less likely to crash hard afterward. But it's real caffeine, not homeopathic amounts.

Why coconut milk instead of dairy or oat milk?

Two reasons. First, coconut milk is traditional in South Indian cuisine. It's lighter than dairy without being watery.

Second, shelf stability. Dairy can upset stomachs. Oat milk has unknown origins and needs additional oils . Coconut milk actually complements the coffee's chocolate notes.

Can I heat this up?

Yes. Pour into a small pot, heat gently until steaming (don't boil), and pour.

We designed this to work both cold and warm. Most people drink it cold, but on cold mornings, warming it can be super satisfying.

How many servings per can?

Officially 1 serving (8 oz). We recommend cracking a can open to share with a friend, or keeping it to enjoy for yourself.

The 4-pack gives you 4 cans = 4 servings = enough for 1 week if you have half serving per day.

Can I use this in smoothies or recipes?

Yes. Some creative ways to enjoy:

  • Coffee smoothies (blend with banana, ice, protein powder)
  • Overnight oats (use instead of regular milk)
  • Affogato-style desserts (pour over ice cream)
  • "Dirty chai" (mix with our masala chai for a spicy-coffee hybrid)
